Our sourcing heartland spans the semi-arid states of Kano, Sokoto, and Zamfara — Nigeria's Sahel belt. The livestock raised here are biologically adapted to extreme conditions: naturally lean, stress-resistant, and high-yielding. These are traits bred over generations, not manufactured at feedlots.
East River Trading Ltd works directly with a network of over 300 verified pastoralist farmers. No middlemen. No opaque supply chains. Every animal in our pipeline carries full traceability records from farm to port, giving buyers certainty over origin, welfare history, and health status.
Every animal passes NAQS veterinary inspection before movement. All exports are Halal-certified by recognised Islamic authorities and accompanied by a complete documentation package meeting destination country import requirements — including health attestation, export permits, and fumigation records.

The Sahel goat is East River's flagship export breed. Long-limbed and lean, it is biologically adapted to arid conditions and demonstrates exceptional resilience during extended live transport. Average liveweight 25–42kg. Peak availability: September to March.

Prized across Gulf markets for its premium hide and lean, finely-grained meat. The Red Sokoto is the preferred breed for Eid al-Adha procurement. Average liveweight 20–32kg. Available year-round with forward order planning.

A fast-maturing, dual-purpose breed suited to bulk commercial orders. Higher liveweight averages (30–48kg) make it the preferred choice for large-volume contracts. Robust in mixed shipping consignments.
